My business model is The Beatles – they were four guys who respected each other's weaknesses; they balanced each other. Their collective achievement was greater than simply the sum of all the parts. The great thing about business is that it's not built by one person, it's accomplished by a team.
Another good film watched, which I want to recommend to iinuu.lv readers. It is a 2010 French-Belgian co-production "Sans laisser de trace" (in English "Traceless", in Russian "Без улик"). The film's central insight: every person has three keys that open the doors to success. They are talent, work and luck.
This time, for real. I have selected ten photographs of various Riga locations - buildings and monuments. Each of them has its own history and significance in the city's landscape. Attention - a competition! Look at the photos and write in the comments: what is it or was it, and where is it? The most accurate and knowledgeable respondent wins a little something from iinuu.lv.
Wool roving is a rewarding material from which, much like clay or any other equally pliable substance, you can create little keepsakes in any shape. This time I am using the dry felting technique to make a plump rabbit with a special significance, which I will reveal in the near future - to keep a little air of suspense.
For the fourth day now I've been battling the seasonal cold - sneezing, coughing, blowing my nose. In short, the usual: first some unpleasant chills, then a sore throat, followed by near-total nasal blockage, until finally everything is crowned by a headache and the irritability it brings. Some will say it's an ordinary case caused by careless dressing for the weather or inattention to draughts. Others might point to the body's somatic response to some inner anxiety brought on by anticipated changes. Either way - a cold is unpleasant, even disruptive. And the thought that it will last at least a week is no comfort at all. So I decided to share some ways I get through the onset of autumn and a cold.
It is a collection of individual stories, each based on some observation, insight or reflection. Reading it, I noticed that the stories included in the book also appear as fragments incorporated into Paulo Coelho's novels, including the recently published "Aleph".
Doesn't it sometimes happen that a lull sets in where there should be a brainstorm, and a good idea simply cannot find a way to express itself - if only because it's not clear where to start or when the right moment will be? Then you remember that well-known concept called strategy. But - what kind of strategy?
A trip to Vecumnieki brought many interesting discoveries and pleasant surprises. Initially only one final destination had been chosen - the Rabbit Town - but in the end we managed to visit three places in all.
On the way back to Latvia we decided to take a loop along Estonia's southern border - along the highway from Häädemeeste to Valga, stopping at the settlements along the way and at sights marked by brown signs. Near the settlement of Helme we saw the ruins of a Teutonic Order castle. A discovery was the Barclay de Tolly mausoleum.
