I recommend stopping by the 5th floor of the Galleria Riga shopping centre, where until the end of this year you can view the photo exhibition by Colombian photographer Camilo Echeverri and listen to the audio exhibition „DIVI" by Linda Leen. This Thursday afternoon I was entirely alone in the room - nothing interrupted my enjoyment of what I found to be a very appealing combination: photo story + music. 13 large-format black-and-white photos in colourful spotlight illuminate a moment of breathing space, silence, calm and inner listening at the centre of a bustling urban environment. Headphones hang beside each photograph, playing music from Linda's new album. In my opinion, it's a worthwhile, unpretentious and successful project. The work "Electric Kiss" spoke to me.
One of Android's bigger drawbacks (from a user perspective) has always been that apps could only be installed in the phone's internal memory, which is and remains extremely small. The good news is that since Android 2.2, the ability to move apps to an SD card appeared.
Nothing brings the Christmas feeling closer than the aroma of mulled wine and gingerbread. For several years before the holidays we have a tradition of baking homemade gingerbread cookies, first cutting out all kinds of shapes from the dough. This year, of course, the top pick will be large and small rabbit figures (after all, the Year of the White Rabbit is approaching). But this time it's not about that. I offer a dessert made from the already-baked gingerbread cookies - a lovely treat for guests on the third Sunday of Advent.
I recalled a long-ago heard or even taught classification - the white, black, red, and yellow races. Looking at it more closely now, it turns out that is quite limited and schematic. There are a great many racial theories - one mentions three, another four, yet another five principal races, not to mention the many sub-races.
While digital camera manufacturers compete over megapixels, offering 5, 7, 12 and more megapixel cameras, technologically-minded people conducted the following experiment - they took several high-resolution photographs...
Say what you will, but the nights of the solstice carry a certain veil of mysticism, a sense of primordial antiquity and a special light or darkness. It is no wonder, then, that these threshold periods are associated with various beliefs, predictions of the future, divination and even enchantments. These traditions, rituals and mysticism were certainly part of our ancestors' worldview. Can we find application of the ancient beliefs for predicting the future today?
From the very first moments of the presentation I understood that writing about these wines and this wine region would be much easier, as it is far freer from canons. California wines account for 9/10 of all wines produced across the great United States. The climate is wonderfully obliging - warm and sunny almost all year round. The fundamental principle: simplicity and accessibility for the wine drinker.
Winter is here and one is craving something hot. Until now I was acquainted with mulled wine and hot balsam. But being an incorrigible beer drinker, for my own delight and that of like-minded souls - this year, earlier than ever before, mulled beer has come into fashion!
So it came to pass that one fine morning I woke up, and what do you think I saw in the courtyard? - my car had no wheels! Not a single one! For some reason I had imagined that getting compensation approved would take at least a couple of days, if not weeks. IF approved the estimate within a day!
Surely the inventors of the internet are nervously puffing away, watching how it has changed. How the trivial transmission of bits and bytes has transformed into a new quality providing communication possibilities that no longer remotely correspond to classic communication principles and very often prompt questions about ethical norms.
