How to Make Soap-Sponges?
If you have the idea of preparing heartfelt gifts in bulk for Easter or other celebrations for friends, relatives and acquaintances, then I have an idea - a handmade soap-sponge. Universal, practical, crafted with imagination and the warmth of the maker's hands.
If you have the idea of preparing heartfelt gifts in bulk for Easter or other celebrations for friends, relatives and acquaintances, then I have an idea - a handmade soap-sponge. Universal, practical, crafted with imagination and the warmth of the maker's hands.

Required:
- wool roving (in orange, lettuce green, yellow and white);
- rubber gloves;
- soap bars of various sizes and shapes;
- raffia, natural, in a vibrant green colour.
The making process is very simple - wrap the soap bars in wool roving. White wool can be chosen as the base, then wound with yellow and green. For such soaps it would not be advisable to use dark or bright coloured wool rovings, such as black, purple, red or dark blue, as they tend to bleed and you risk getting an unwanted tint when washing yourself. :)
Moisten the wrap slightly (so the soap does not dissolve completely) in warm water, until the soap starts to lather, and then all that remains is to rub with your hands until the wool becomes fairly firm and tightly encloses the soap. The soap-sponge is practically ready when it no longer lathers and has taken the shape of the soap. Leave it to dry on a radiator for at least twenty-four hours.
To make the soap-sponges look more festive - to look like gifts, so to speak - tie them with raffia. Of course, they can be decorated even more elaborately by attaching dried flowers, for example.
