Indian Dance. New Earth Project Presentation
The concert consisted of two parts: in the first, audiences could watch classical Indian dances, and in the second, enjoy lively Bollywood rhythms. The dance reflected the basic elements - earth, fire, water, air - as well as the power of feminine energy, governed by the goddess Tara, along with love and the emotions that accompany this feeling: sadness, joy, longing.
On the evening of 13 November, the Artelis club hosted an Indian dance concert that was simultaneously a presentation of the new project "New Earth" and the Diwali festival - the counterpart of Latvia's traditional Christmas. The fundamental idea of the event and the aforementioned project is to remind people that they are part of nature. Listening to the voice of the Earth, not ignoring biorhythms, treating natural resources responsibly - this brings peace and harmony to a person.

The author of the "New Earth" project's concept is the dancer, choreographer, and teacher with international experience Premal Madina. Performers included local dancers from Riga: Ieva Ozolina, Sintija Abreniete, Tanita Trubina, Olga Kogane, Gints Dancītis; as well as a pair of dancers from India, Avik Parkar and Debi Mandal.
In my view, the main achievement of the event was the atmosphere created, and the almost meditative peace and inner joy at the beauty of the surrounding nature evoked by the dance rhythms. The mood was enhanced by the stage lighting, complemented by lit candles placed along the edge of the stage - a living flame. Between dance performances, a film was shown with spectacular views of tropical forests, deserts, and mountains. In the intermission, a backdrop of drum rhythms.
