He – the most expensive artist in XX century, the choosiest bohemian, insane and genial.

Where the geniality of Dali hides?

In his “Diary of Genius” (Jumava, 1999) he explains with original method: “Each in whole world, especially in America, wants to know the secret method, with which help here and here is the success. This method really exists. This method calls “paranoidal critical method”. There are already 30 years, since I invented it, and I use it, although on what it leans on. I am fascinated exactly Dali’s playing with viewer, art receiver. What really you see? They are lips, or red, soft sofa? Are they nostrils, but maybe it is fireplace with live coals? You never know, that they’re steps, but maybe you walk on popular actress double chins wrinkles? You want to know what is going on in this actress head? – Please!

When you’re walking in this museum, accidentally you remember something from Freud – dreams, nightmares, sublimation of propensity, image of collage, which are made by subconsciousness. Known impression in artists work obviously has been left from Dali’s meeting with Freud too.

By the way, in thoughts, when you go to Freud’s native country, in Vine are some Dali’s original works – Palais Surreal – Josefspaltz 5. This place is found when you go in direction from Staatsoper, along by Nationalbibliotek, near Hofburg.

Everywhere in Figueroa’s theatre – museum is the feeling that Dali is here. Sometimes there’s a feeling that artist himself somewhere from mansard looks to visitors with known smirk on his lips. But his life shortness is confirmed - in museum basement there is Dalis burial and memorial plaque.
