Gemius Invites Latvian Bloggers to Apply for the Spring Blog Top

I wouldn't say press releases in the iinuu inbox are a rarity. Most of the time is spent replying that we don't copy-paste press releases to our blog. But since this one is about something personally relevant, I'm happy to share the news that this April will see the regular Gemius Latvia blog measurements, after which the spring blog top will be compiled. Latvian bloggers have the opportunity to apply for free statistics measurements by 30 March. And let the measuring begin!

As usual, April will see the Latvian blog measurements, after which the Gemius spring blog top will be compiled. Bloggers are invited to participate in free statistics measurements by writing to [email protected] and providing the blog owner's first and last name, the blog's web address and the topics covered in the blog, by 30 March.

Blog owners who have previously taken part in the top and already have measurement codes placed on their blog do not need to apply again.

The four previously established criteria for evaluating a submitted blog's eligibility for the study remain in effect:

  • it cannot be a commercial company's blog;
  • original content must predominate;
  • the blog author must be known - an "About us" section or signature under the article;
  • the Gemius code measures the entire page, not a separate "blog" section.

Gemius Latvia reserves the right to evaluate the content published on a blog and not to include blogs whose content is deemed to be in breach of Latvian legislation and generally accepted societal norms and ethics.

For bloggers interested in applying, it is important to know that only pages in whose scripts a code can be inserted are measured, thus excluding websites hosted on wordpress.com servers.

We also invite authors whose pages do not meet the aforementioned blog criteria to contact us regarding measurements.

The measurements cover several metrics - the number of real users, the number of page views, the average time spent by one user on the blog, and other indicators. The top itself is compiled based on the number of visitors in the specific month.

Gemius blog measurements are carried out twice a year - in April and November - thereby reflecting the spring and autumn trends in the development of the Latvian blogosphere.

In the autumn blog top, first place was taken by the technology blog kursors.lv with 31,500 visitors. In second place was the lifestyle blog iinuu.lv with 24,700 users, while third place went to topivesels.lv with 13,300 visitors. Culinary and healthy lifestyle blogs were particularly popular in autumn, occupying nine places in the top twenty.

The gemiusAudience study is conducted based on the audience size of 7–74-year-olds on websites visited by people connecting to the internet from Latvian territory using computers, mobile phones and tablets. The gemiusAudience study is conducted based on a complex and modern methodology that makes it possible to identify the actual number of visitors rather than cookies or IP addresses.
