German artist Lars Stroschen, who uses "an island with a propeller" as his pseudonym, has created a peculiar yet functional art object for the delight of Berliners and visitors to Berlin - the hotel CITY LODGE. Each room here has its own concept, its own name and a one-of-a-kind original décor. The hotel leaves a surreal impression on its visitors - how else could one perceive a bed floating in the middle of the room, furniture placed on the ceiling, sleeping quarters in the shape of a coffin, and so on and so forth.
An acquaintance of mine once said that the violin is an instrument that can simultaneously be both joyful and sad. In any case, it is an ambiguous instrument. «Feria de Abril» - that is also the name of the spring festival celebrated every year in the southern Spanish province of Andalusia. This festival is especially popular in Seville, where flamenco parties go on for entire days and nights and everyone dances sevillanas. Traditional bullfights and trading also take place there. The Musée du Louvre, although in recent years associated above all with the thrilling plot of Dan Brown's novel "The Da Vinci Code" and the symbolic mystery of the grandiose glass pyramid, is nevertheless a historic building rich in historical events. Most visitors, of course, gathered around Leonardo da Vinci's famous painting Mona Lisa. Even now, having seen the original with my own eyes from a few metres away, I cannot understand what everyone finds in it.
There is no point in idolising her, pursuing her, seducing her or trying to take her by force - she chooses her own partner, and only in tête-à-tête with her chosen one does she reveal the depth of her feelings. She regards her body as a precious instrument that only a virtuoso may play.
