Alekša Square Opening Celebration

Today, 1 May at 15:00, several environmental design and improvement features were unveiled in Alekša Square in Sarkandaugava. The square is now dressed in red and features board game areas, a ping-pong table, bicycle parking, benches, and an outdoor exercise area. A place for walks, relaxation, and sporting activities.

The approximately one hundred neighbourhood residents and guests who had gathered were entertained by a brass ensemble, jugglers, and gymnasts. Hunger could be satisfied at the Ghetto Burger mobile food van. The weather was not at all obliging - strong gusts of wind, occasional rain, and fairly cold. But that did not deter either the organisers or the visitors from enjoying such a significant neighbourhood celebration.
