Hooray! Another Acorn
Whenever I receive a certificate after completing a training course, I liken myself to that squirrel from the Ice Age animated film, who stretched and stored acorns in her hollow for a rainy day and worked so hard for each one. :) This time my acorn comes from the language centre "Diversus" - certificate of English competence: presentation skills and meetings in English.
Whenever I receive a certificate after completing a training course, I liken myself to that squirrel from the Ice Age animated film, who stretched and stored acorns in her hollow for a rainy day and worked so hard for each one and guarded it fiercely. :) This time my acorn comes from the language centre "Diversus" - certificate of English competence: presentation skills and meetings in English.

The greatest satisfaction came from a presentation about blog culture in Latvia - in English, with a video recording that we later analysed as a group. The opportunity to watch and listen to yourself from the outside - it really does help, I must say. I saved it on a USB drive and watched it again at home with a critical eye. It turned out better than it had seemed at first.
I genuinely like the way lessons are organised at Diversus - in a relaxed atmosphere, but every topic must always be reinforced with practical application. If we are learning about presentations - their structure, techniques, and so on - then at the end you must prepare an actual presentation and deliver it, followed by a pointed Q&A session. If we are learning about organising meetings, then at the end you must choose a topic and type of meeting and run it from start to finish. Thank you to the wonderful teacher Linda, who is truly a master of her craft!
If anyone wants to learn or improve their English, I recommend - http://www.diversus.lv
