Many of us make promises to ourselves to start something new on the 1st - and specifically at the start of the new year. But perhaps there's something to change about your appearance - a new haircut, a new colour? Well, if that last idea has crossed your mind, I've found a few online tools where you can try out and adapt various hairstyles, makeup looks, and accessories to your face shape. In short - be your own stylist!

On the 1st I will start a new life - I'll stick more strictly to my diet, since the festively laden holiday tables have added a couple of extra kilograms; I'll get up half an hour earlier to stop being lazy and squeeze fresh, natural juice for breakfast; I'll call my parents more often, as they so miss my support; I won't be stingy and will buy myself that beautiful but pricey black evening dress I've been dreaming of; every day I'll pay someone a compliment; and so on and so forth. Well then, if that last idea has crossed your mind, I've found a few online tools where you can try out and adapt various hairstyles, makeup looks, and accessories to your face shape. In short - be your own stylist!

One such site is http://www.thehairstyler.com/ - here you can read various tips on which hairstyle suits which face shape, articles about Hollywood stars' visual transformations, browse images, and in the Virtual Hairstyler upload your own photo and try on various hairstyles. The only thing I'm not entirely comfortable with is uploading my photos to a website for all to see.

So I was better off finding a few downloadable programs for private use :) One I quite liked - Style Advisor – Виртуальный стилист 2 - simple and easy to use.

The compatible haircuts can be filtered at the start, selecting only short, medium, or long styles. You can also choose hairstyles for everyday wear, special occasions, the cold season, or the sunny season. For each cut and hair colour, makeup options, jewellery, and accessories are also suggested.
