Greetings from Mexico - Yucatán
I have once again received an email from Silvija, and thanks to the photographs she sent, I continue to explore Mexico from afar. This time we can take a look at the south-east of Mexico - Yucatán.

On my name day I received warm and affectionate greetings from Silvija. This time the email attachment was filled with and warmed by the Mexican sun. It turns out Silvija is currently working in the Mexican city of Cancún as a tour guide. The photographs come from Xcaret Mexico Park.
Unfortunately, this autumn I didn't find the time to get my hands on those orange and palely muted autumn wonders - pumpkins - to make some beautiful decoration for the home. The little decorative pumpkins, gifted and brought from the countryside, are still sitting on the kitchen windowsill. But there is no shortage of decoration ideas. Here are a few. Perhaps they'll come in handy for you ;)
We were pleasantly surprised by the excellent organisation of the event, the attendance, the modern lighting effects, and the live music backdrop, which always lends an event a certain charm. Since we had come to the event primarily as supporters of the dancers, we focused more on and captured on video and in photos the many and varied dance styles - Bollywood Indian dances, belly dances, flamenco, Gypsy dances, and break dance.
This year White Night in Sarkandaugava was more active than ever before. Neither interested visitors nor volunteers were in short supply. But the greatest satisfaction for the Sarkandaugava residents themselves was that the district had become a gathering place for creative and active people who care about the environment they live in and who wish to foster joy in life and a sense of responsibility in those around them.
The previous decades and their fashion were far enough from the present for one to simply marvel at the exhibited garments, photograph them, and share countless pictures for others to marvel at in turn. But this time the view of the exhibition was far more critical.
Some foolish people thought that their remark "they're not even alive" would somehow wound the penguins' self-pride and they would start moving. Not a chance - that trick only works on people, who immediately rush to defend their Ego and instantly prove they are alive. On closer observation, meanwhile, each penguin (much like a person) has its own temperament, character, and behavioural traits.
Last weekend, in honour of our tin/rose wedding anniversary, we decided to head to the northern coast of Estonia to discover the local nature and enjoy the pleasures of a SPA. The result: we once again confirmed the appealing tranquillity of Estonian life, discovered one little paradise beach, and visited a resort town we hope never to set foot in again.
For a couple of weeks now, residents of Sarkandaugava, drivers and pedestrians on Tvaika Street have been able to watch drawings taking shape on the wall of the Riga Centre of Psychiatry and Narcology. More precisely - they are words, letters, syllables, illustrated by black-and-white images: flowers, birds, faces.
At the restaurant-pizzeria Zaļais Maksis today, all were warmly welcome who had something stuck at home - something one is fond of but can no longer find a real use for. Both flea market traders and simple Saturday afternoon enjoyers found here an excellent place for trading, relaxation, conversation in a relaxed atmosphere, music, and food.
