When you think about it, we watch very little TV, but quite a lot of films - and lately also series that filmmakers have managed to make rather well. One such series is the American political drama House of Cards (2013–2016, 4 seasons).

The action takes place in present-day Washington. The series is about US Democratic Party politician Frank Underwood, brilliantly portrayed in my view by Kevin Spacey (Kevin Spacey), as well as his wife Claire Underwood (Robin Wright), who, like her husband, has consciously adopted the life stance that the end justifies any means. The film is full of ruthless pragmatism, manipulation, the ignoring of any universal human or religious values, but also of global strategic thinking and juicy quotes.
