What Do the Fingers Tell Us?

Continuing the topic of human body proportions, this time I will focus more on the details - the characterisation of fingers and nails. Although everything must always be viewed as a whole - shape, flexibility, colouring, spread, and proportions - here are some initial schematic observations about finger types.

Continuing the topic of human body proportions, this time I will focus more on the details - the characterisation of fingers and nails. Although everything must always be viewed as a whole - shape, flexibility, colouring, spread, and proportions - here are some initial schematic observations about finger types.

Finger Types.

Long fingers - an intelligent person.

Short fingers - an impulsive, impatient person.

Large fingers (1) - a persistent person with slow thinking.

Square and spatula-shaped fingers (note the fingertips specifically) - an energetic person.

Fingers narrower at the joint near the nail base (2) - a deliberate person.

Conical, pointed fingers (3) - an impulsive person with artistic inclinations, pedantic in their actions.

Slender fingers - an introverted person with an ascetic nature.

Thick and short fingers - a selfish person.

Crooked fingers - a malicious, easily irritated person.

Fleshy fingers without pronounced joints (4) - an impulsive person with quick reactions and fast thinking.

Knotted joints (5) - a deep thinker.

Large, wide finger joints - a methodical, rational person.

Finger Flexibility and Mobility.

Stiff fingers - a "stiff" personality who never yields, maintains customs and habits, but is distinguished by admirable practicality.

Fingers that bend inward slightly towards the palm - the person has a sensible and attentive nature.

Bent, stiff fingers - a timid, cautious, prejudiced person with tendentious judgements.

Flexible fingers - a person without prejudices, somewhat careless.

Fingers that bend and curve back slightly away from the palm - a person who ignores rules and regulations, likes to chat, and is pleasant company.

Fingers that bend back and are flexible - an open, curious person.

Nail Shape.

A - short nails - an energetic, curious person endowed with good intuition and logical thinking.

B - short nails wider than their length - a critical and quick-natured person.

C - wide, long nails with rounded tips - a person with clear common sense.

D - long almond-shaped nails - a calm person who is easy to get along with; also a dreamer.

E - very large and wide nails (practically square) - a cold and selfish nature.

F - wedge-shaped nails - an overly sensitive person.

Nail Colour.

We focus specifically on the horn layer covering the flesh.

Distinctly white, pale - a cold, self-satisfied, and selfish person.

Soft pink - a warm and accommodating character.

Red - a person with an uncontrollable temperament.

Bluish - an unhealthy person (physically or mentally).

Finger Spread Relative to the Palm.

1. Fingers held tightly and stiffly pressed together as a rule - a cautious, suspicious, reserved person.

2. Evenly spaced fingers in an open spread - a balanced, reasonable person with the potential for success.

3. Fingers notably separated from each other - an independent, freedom-loving person.

4. Large gaps between all fingers - an open, honest, loyal, almost childishly naive person.

5. Largest gap between the thumb and index finger - a magnanimous, generous person.

6. Largest gap between the index finger and middle finger - an independently thinking person who is practically impossible to influence.

7. Largest gap between the middle finger and ring finger - a carefree person with no worry or concern about the future; lighthearted.

8. Largest gap between the ring finger and little finger - a person with original, sometimes unconventional thinking.

9. The little finger notably separated from the rest - difficulty in personal contacts with people; an isolated and hostile person.

So basically, the more attractive your hand, the more "important" and positive qualities you possess.

I don't think this is wisdom. I think the accepted name for this type of thinking is "eugenics".

So in other words, the more attractive your hands, the "better" a person you are?

I don't think that's called wisdom. I think the word you're looking for is "eugenics"...
