Natasha Atlas - Arabic Singer
A singer from Belgium in whose music, voice, and temperament - just as in her blood - many cultures blend together. Known as a performer of Arabic and Egyptian songs. Though don't be surprised if you hear her singing in English, French, or other languages too.
Natasha Atlas (Natasha Atlas or نتاشا أطلس, born 20 March 1964 in Jerusalem) - a Belgian singer in whose music, voice, and temperament - just as in her blood - many cultures blend together. From her father's side Natasha inherited Moroccan, Egyptian, and Palestinian heritage, while from her mother's side - British. The singer has mastered several languages - Arabic, French, English, and Spanish. She grew up in a Brussels suburb in Belgium, but after her parents' separation moved to England.

Known as a performer of Arabic and Egyptian songs. Though don't be surprised if you hear her singing in English, French, or other languages as well, for example "I Put a Spell on You" and "Mon Amie La Rose". However, in both mentioned songs the Arabic melody rhythm remains unchanged.
For me an interesting discovery was hearing Natasha Atlas perform a Serbian folk song "Ajde Jano" -
Ajde Jano, kolo da igramo
Ajde Jano, ajde duso, kolo da igramo 2x
Ajde Jano, konja da prodamo
Ajde Jano, ajde duso, konja da prodamo 2X
Ajde Jano, kucu da prodamo
Ajde Jano, ajde duso, kucu da prodamo 2x
Da prodamo, samo da igramo
Da prodamo, Jano duso, samo da igramo2x
The translation might sound roughly as follows (someone who knows Serbian could correct it) -
Come, Jano, let us dance!
Come, Jano, let us sell the horse,
We will sell it, just so that we can dance,
Come, Jano, let us sell the house,
We will sell it, just so that we can dance.
