A Popcorn Cone

It turns out that the American Indians were the first to use popcorn - maize kernels popped by heat - as food. Later this "craze" spread throughout America and made its way to Europe. Since 1912 popcorn has been sold in cinemas and is nowadays an inseparable part of them. Given that popcorn is a grain, it would be a healthy food - much like breakfast cereals - if it weren't salted or artificially sweetened. There is salty, there is sweet, and there is popcorn in a beautifully decorated cone. So let's talk about the last one.

Given that popcorn is a grain, it would be a healthy food - much like breakfast cereals - if it weren't salted or artificially sweetened.

There is salty, there is sweet, and there is popcorn in a beautifully decorated cone. So let's talk about the last one.

To make it you will need:
• fairly thick paper for the cone base;
• red crepe paper for wrapping the cone;
• transparent ribbon;
• glue;
• scissors;
• colourful magazine pictures;
• popcorn.

Making steps.
Step 1.
Cut a larger cone shape and secure its edges. Then cover it with red crepe paper, folding the ends inside the cone.

Step 2.
Make small holes on opposite sides of the cone and thread a ribbon through them, securing it on the inside with a knot.

Step 3.
Cut out colourful little hearts from magazine illustrations and glue them onto the edges of the cone.

Step 4.
Make popcorn in the microwave and fill the cone. Those who want something more original can colour the popcorn pink using grenadine syrup. The cone can of course also be filled with other types of sweets or dried fruit.

Hang the cone near a comfortable sofa and it's time for a romantic film evening! :)
